LockeyUSA™ is proud to partner with NuCycle Energy to turn waste going to landfills into a cleaner alternative fuel source.

Our Impact

Since the beginning of 2022, we have diverted 91,320 lbs. (45.66 tons) from landfills and into coal replacement Enviro-Fuelcubes®. Our partnership with NuCycle Energy has created cost savings and allowed us to eliminate an average of 16 yards of waste per week.

How It Works

NuCycle gaylords are located next to trash bins in our Tampa Distribution Center. Our teams are trained and signs are posted listing the appropriate materials that can be recycled. NuCycle provides a trailer that is filled and swapped with waste that would otherwise go into a landfill, including:

About NuCycle Energy

NuCycle Energy is an enterprise dedicated to maximizing the utilization of end-of-life industrial materials to produce an innovative low-carbon-emission fuel source for energy-intensive industries.

In 2011, the United States Environmental Protection Agency “USEPA” designated NuCycle Energy’s product, Enviro-Fuelcubes® (“EFCs”) a “Legitimate” fuel approved for use in Energy Intensive Industrial Processes as an alternative commodity fuel. Nineteen state regulatory offices have also recognized the benefits of NuCycle”s alternative fuel and manufacturing operations providing us a “non-waste” designation, further differentiating us from the more common and less efficient “waste to energy” fuels.
